Restoration
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
—1 Corinthians 15:22-23
So…where are we now in the story? Let’s recap:
Part 1: God created everything and He saw that it was good.
Part 2: We chose sin and brokenness over the promises of God.
Part 3: Jesus enters the picture. We are told to find greatness in Him alone, and not the things of the world.
Now we’re in part four, where we are met with the tension of the already but not yet:
Yes, God has transformed, is transforming, and will transform everything.
But we are also living with so much brokenness because we are still waiting for His restoration of everything.
So how do we wait in active hope?
Jubilee 2022 speaker Heather Strong Moore painted a beautiful picture for us of what it looks like to wait in hope. She gave us three things to do while we wait in active hope for God’s restoration:
Don’t give up on your body
Build the good
Honor the Creation
Waiting can be incredibly hard and painful. But the same God who created everything and saw it was good is an expert in patience. He may not work quickly by our own standards, but he is moving. Powerfully.
If you find yourself discouraged that we are still living in this broken world with no sign of light at the end of the tunnel, this is for you. Take 20 minutes right now and let Heather speak directly to you.
Heather Strong Moore joined virtual Jubilee 2022 from Memphis, Tennessee and closed out the four-part Biblical narrative with a message on Restoration. We laughed, we cried, and we were inspired. If you're not quite sure how the Gospel story impacts your life, watch this!
The beauty of this story is that it really never ends. This story quite literally lives on through all of us, and it is yearning to break free into every. area. of. your. life.
And that is what #LivingJubilee is all about. And we're just getting started!
See you next week with more ways to #LiveJubilee.
Peace,
Your Jubilee Team
